Description

CareLink Community Support Services has a current opening for a Psychiatrist at our Norristown, PA location.   Employee benefits for all full time positions (30 hours or more/week) include medical, dental, tuition reimbursement, 403(b), paid time off, and paid holidays. Our rehabilitation services and professional staff provide the supports that people with serious mental illness, physical disabilities and other developmental challenges need to be active, productive members of their communities.

The Psychiatrist will be responsible for monitoring and assessing the psychiatric needs of the residents and individuals receiving services at the STAR residential and partial day programs.  The  Psychiatrist will collaborate with the clinical team in the development and implementation of all treatment plans and will provide consultation and overall clinical and medical direction to the treatment team. 

Available Shift:

  • Program operates Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Salary Range:

  • Commensurate upon experience
Qualifications:
  1. M.D./D.O. degree from accredited school of medicine or osteopathy in the U.S.; or valid M.D. degree from a foreign school of medicine and have passed the ECFMG exam and 3 years related experience.
  2. Completed an internship from an accredited graduate medical education program recognized by the AMA or AOA.
  3. Completed a psychiatric residency in an accredited residency program and will be board certified.
  4. Valid and current DEA certificate and will be currently enrolled in and in good standing in the PA Medical Assistance Program.
  5. Possess minimum professional liability coverage of $1,000,000/occurrence and $3,000,000/aggregate.

Essential Functions:

  • Meet at least monthly with assigned persons in recovery within the STAR Partial Program
  • Complete annual psychiatric evaluations for assigned participants.
  • Evaluate and monitor the weekly medication of assigned participants.
  • Review and sign treatment plans for partial hospital/outpatient clinic.
  • Provide assistance when appropriate in the psychiatric hospitalization of residents, including facilitating the 302 process.
  • Prescribe for urine toxicology as appropriate.
  • Act as referral agent for medical consultations.
  • Assist in the interpretation of evaluation materials and test results.
  • Assure back-up psychiatric coverage.
  • Consultation to Case Managers and other pertinent staff.
  • Attend specific meetings, as agreed upon.
  • Assist in screening of potential program candidates.
  • Assist in developing documentation for entitlement program applicants.
  • Provide timely and comprehensive documentation of clinical activities in accordance with agency policies.
  • Provide consultation services to other CareLink programs, as requested and appropriate.
  • Participate in the development and assessment of program activities at STAR programs.
  • Respond appropriately and promptly to emergency situations.
