CareLink Community Support Services has current a opening for a Custodial/Maintenance Worker  at our Philadelphia, PA location. The Custodial position is responsible for overall cleaning of program and apartment sites, internally and externally as well as general maintenance of property and grounds.

Available Shift:

• 1st Shift: (40 Hours) Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma/G.E.D.
2. Diploma from accredited trade school desired
3. Minimum one year housekeeping AND general repair maintenance required
4. Ability to understand use of cleaning supplies required.
5. Ability to use required tools for completing maintenance work such as power drill, hammer, sander,
6. Lifting is required.  Ability to lift fifty to sixty (50-60) pounds (weight of a window air conditioner)  from storage basement to upper levels (up to four floors)
7. Must be able to bend, twist, reach, push/pull during the entire shift.
8. Knowledge of OSHA regulation preferred.
9. Valid driver’s license required.
10. Willingness to drive agency vehicle when required.

Essential Functions:

1. Responsible for thorough cleaning of the community living room, community dining room, community bathrooms, and community kitchen.
2. Responsible for cleaning all consumer apartments and consumer living spaces (dining room, living room, and bathroom)
3. Responsible for maintaining all entrances clean and free of debris.
4. Responsible for making sure all trash is in exterior receptacles.
5. Responsible for ordering all cleaning supplies and paper products.
6. Responsible for inventory and storage of all cleaning supplies and paper products.
7. Responsible for shopping and completing errands as requested.
8. Responsible for handling preventive maintenance issues on agency van as needed. Examples include filling the van with gas, cleaning the van, etc.
9. Responsible for light maintenance and other functions:
10. Perform minor repairs and renovations.
11. Perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and locksmith repairs/renovations.
12. Perform seasonal work such as removal and installation of storm windows, screens, air conditioners, fans, and snow removal.
13. Perform ground-keeping duties such as grass cutting, raking leaves, pruning trees/shrubs and exterior clean up.
10. Inform supervisor of renovation needs and safety/hazardous conditions at the property

Physical Demands:

1. Lifting is required. Ability to lift at least a minimum of fifty (50) pounds;
2. Ability to perform common household cleaning and maintenance repair activities that involve: consistent standing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and walking;
3. Ability to drive agency vehicle
